Telecom Regulatory Authority of India data suggest that there now 1.2 billion wireless connections in India, which means that – on average – every Indian has a mobile phone.
In fact, the tele-density is 167 lines per 100 users in urban India, and 57 lines per 100 users in rural India. This is far better than wired connections ever did.
